2025 Para Fencing Satellite Tournament

Participation is open to all Wheelchair Fencing Nations.
For each individual event, there is a minimum of four fencers from three World Abilitysport countries to be an official World Para Fencing event.
Athletes are allowed to start in higher categories (Cat. B athletes in Cat. A; and Cat. C athletes in Cat. B or Cat. A) on their own decision or if there are not sufficient participants in their own category.
All athletes need a valid World Para Fencing license for the year of the competition.

A fencer without an official international classification is not allowed to participate in an World Para Fencing competition.

Classification will take place for all unclassified competitors before the competition. The placing of competitors within each category is strictly according to the decision of the official classifiers authorities who have examined and classified them. A classification fee of 50 GBP per athlete is charged by World Abilitysport.

Referee qualification:

WPF A/B/(P)

Referees must be provided based on the total number of athletes per tournament.

The required number of qualified referees must be entered into the inscription system before athletes can be added to the competition.

The referees activity is not paid by the organizer.

The referees of the delegations must always attend the Competitions, Tournaments or Championships from the beginning until the end of the last bout/match of the competiton. A penalty fee will be applied if they arrive too late or leave too early.

According to World Para Fencing rules:
Pools followed by direct elimination without elimination (100% of athletes proceed to direct elimination after pools).

All events will be fenced separated by gender (men, women) and by categories (A, B, C).

World Abilitysport retains the right to conduct random Anti-Doping testing at any World Para Fencing competition.

According to World Para Fencing rules with the following exceptions:

There is no need to have the name/nation of the athlete printed on the back of the jackets or to have the nation printed on the apron.
Also, no national logos are required on the clothing or on spoke protectors.

CLASSIFICATION

The classification for the Satellite Tournament is scheduled for 10+11 APRIL 2025.

If any Male Category A athletes do not upload MDF, Athlete Consent Form, and the supporting medical documentation onto the World Abilitysport - Sports Management System (WA-SMS) by 9 March 2025, for Athlete Reassessment, they will be ineligible to compete at the Satellite Tournament.

If any Male Category A athlete was reassessed in Pisa, Italy in November 2024 or March 2025, or Sao Paulo in February 2025, they do not need to be seen again and are eligible to compete.

We encourage all Nations to upload all Female Category A athlete's MDF, Athlete Consent Form, and the supporting medical documentation onto the World Abilitysport - Sports Management System (WA-SMS), as some Female Category A athletes will be seen in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Pisa, Italy at this 2025 Wheelchair Fencing World Cup.

NEUTRAL PARA ATHLETES (NPA)

As payment in lieu of the obligation to provide referees, a fee of 150 GBP will be charged per Neutral Para Athlete (NPA) entered, per competition entered (see "Neutral Athlete and Support Personnel Regulations" from 28 March 2024).

INSURANCE

All members of attending delegations should insure themselves in case of accidents, injuries or illness. The organizer will not accept any responsibility or financial loss or any other responsibility incurred by any of the participants whatsoever.

Remark: The Accreditation Rates and Room Rates do not include the World Abilitysport fee of £20 for each participant (athlete, official, staff, ...) which will be invoiced and has to be paid to World Abilitysport after the competition.

The data from the entry form and Ophardt system must be consistent and current!

It is responsibility of the national federations to inform World Abilitysport and the local Organizing Committee about any changes and keep all data up-to-date.

Invoices for entered participants (Accreditation Rates and Room Rates) will be sent once you have completed the booking section and has to be paid directly to the LOC using the bank details below.


PAYMENTS FOR ACCREDITATION AND ROOM RATES

The accreditation rate will allow competition accreditation only. Airport transfers, travel to venue,
Accommodation and breakfast are NOT included.

The room rates will include accommodation and breakfast in the official hotels, airport transfers to the hotels and between the hotels and the venue.

Day rates start from the dinner on the day of arrival and continues until breakfast on the day of departure.

The party making payment will be responsible for bank charges, if any.

If the payment will not be done before the start of the competition additional 20% financial penalty (20% of total amount) will be applied.


LATE ENTRIES / REGISTRATIONS

In exceptional situations of
- the registration of accommodation packages with the local organizers after 26 FEBRUARY 2025
- the registration of athletes and officials in Ophardt system after 9 MARCH 2025 may be considered by LOC and World Abilitysport, and may be accepted.

In this case a 20% penalty fee will be added to Accreditation Rates and Room Rates by the local organizers, and World Abilitysport will charge a £150 (after 9 APRIL 2025: £250) late entry surcharge for each late entry.


CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations after the closing deadline for entries are only possible for medical reasons or force majeure, which have to be proved. The national federation must inform World Abilitysport and the local organizers.

Any cancellation of ordered accommodation packages after 26 FEBRUARY 2025 but before
4 MARCH 2025 will result in applying the cancellation fee:
50% of packages that have been ordered and cancelled.

Any cancellation of ordered accommodation packages after 5 MARCH 2025 but before
11 MARCH 2025 will result in applying the cancellation fee:
75% of packages that have been ordered and cancelled.

Any cancellation of ordered accommodation packages after 12 MARCH 2025 will result in applying the cancellation fee:
100% of packages that have been ordered and cancelled.

WORLD ABILITYSPORT FEES

The World Abilitysport Registration Fee (20 GBP per person), a possible Late Entry Surcharge (150 GBP per person after the entry deadline and until 3 days before the competition, 250 GBP until the head of delegation meeting), the fine for missing referees (1.500 GBP per missing referee before and 2.000 GBP after the entry deadline) and possible other fines must be paid directly to World Para Fencing.

Please note that all fees and penalties payable to World Para Fencing will be invoiced AFTER THE COMPETITION.
